The contest started in the Netherlands in 2010, then went on to cover the whole of europe in 2011 and this year the contest is going world-wide and covering 32 countries – each country has their own site with details of how to enter and the prizes on offer. If you use an anrdoid phone, there is also an app available.

Any support is welcome: from uploading a single image, spreading the word about the contest, to becoming a partner or sponsor. This September, cultural heritage will be in the spotlight on Wikipedia – from Chile to India, Russia and the Netherlands.

The rules are as follows :

  • Self taken and self uploaded
  • Uploaded in September 2012
